Jason and his Argonauts travelled over land and sea, through perils and horrors untold, to retrieve the magical Golden Fleece and reclaim his kingdom. Hercules performed twelve hellish labours for twelve years as atonement for the death of his family. And so we reach the next exciting stage in our own journey with Total War: ARENA, as we prepare to enter the first Closed Beta Test!
·Closed Beta Test will begin on Friday 1st September at 13:00 (UTC). Further information about in-game activities during this session and the exact duration of the CBT will be provided at a later date.
This is the largest session Total War: ARENA has carried out to date, and offers the greatest freedom in experiencing the game than any session before it. Step into the arena and unleash some fury as the servers remain active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This crucial evolution was announced at gamescom 2017, where the vengeful Barbarian Commander Boudica has been wooing the Cologne crowds with her brand new unit, the Wardogs!
We want everyone to experience this new stage of the journey together, so veterans and newcomers alike will be starting on a level battlefield at the start of the Closed Beta Test. There’s plenty of new content and features to discover in the latest build of Total War: ARENA, which we’ll be exploring in greater detail with developer Q&As, spotlights, and live streams from gamescom 2017 this week!
As a reminder of some more good news, the non-disclosure agreement, which was in place for all previous Alpha sessions leading up to Alpha 10, has been lifted. You are now completely free to stream and share images and video of your experiences in Total War: ARENA with the wider world, and we wholeheartedly encourage you to do so!
You can stay up to date on Total War: ARENA news from gamescom 2017 and beyond by liking our Facebook page, following us on Twitter, or checking out our Instagram! You can also head over to our official forum to talk tactics with your fellow commanders!
See you on the battlefield!
